What is BAIW (Bulgarian Association of Independent Winegrowers)?
The Bulgarian Association of Independent Winegrowers is an active non-profit organisation uniting winegrowers (mostly family businesses) from different regions of Bulgaria, who do everything from A to Z: take care of the vineyard, harvest their grapes, produced bottled wine and sell it under their own name/brand.
The main objectives of BAIW are:
- To represent and defend the interests of Independent Winegrowers in Bulgaria, including at the European Parliament;
- To promote the quality and authenticity of Bulgarian wine “of terroir”;
- To participate in the development of agricultural policies and wine;
- To assist its members in the organisation and participation in local and international exhibitions;
- To organise meetings, seminars, training, exchange of experience, including abroad;
- To develop its structure to combine forces and expertise of its members.
In 2024 BAIW has 52 active members.
